It was in the early 1990’s that the Silverglen Civic embarked on an ambitious project to construct a civic building and a pre-school at the corner of Harmony and Parkside Roads.
The following donations were received:
R100 000 from the House of Delegates
R30 000 from SCDIFA Sports, Charitable and Educational Trust
R10 000 from Wasteman Services
R10 000 from Mr Bala Govender
R10 000 from Professor SS Naidoo
The official opening of the building and the Pre-School took place on 7 June 2003. The Guest Speaker was Councillor Diana Hoorzuk. The following plaques were unveiled on that day:-
• Mr Sadhasa (Krish) Naidoo: President of the Silverglen Civic Association
• Professor Cyril Naidoo: Sponsor of Administration Office in honour of his late parents Mr & Mrs Subramoney Naidoo
• Mr T.K Pather: President of SCIDIFA Sports, Charitable & Educational Trust.
• Children’s Sick Room: sponsored by the Chatsmed Garden Hospital Trust.
