Krish Naidoo passed away on 9 september 2012, aged 70. He was one of a group of concerned residents that re-activated the Silverglen Civic Association in 1990, after a dormant period of nine years. He played a prominent role in the construction of the Community Centre and Pre-School on land purchased from the municipality. The building was officially opened by the then Civic President Mr Krish Naidoo on 7 June 2003.
Krish was a person incredibly responsible, intelligent and caring. He displayed much insight in deliberations and expertise in everything he was tasked to do.
In Silverglen, we are fortunate to have a small group of residents who are prepared to make their personal time available for community service. Krish was one of those volunteers. Perhaps, his greatest triumph came when as an active member of the BulBul Drive Dumpsite Action Committee, the landfill site was finally closed in November 2011, after a 20 year “battle” with the bureaucratic Wasteman Company.
WE STILL MISS HIM.
